Parkinson’s disease is a neurological disorder with an increasing incidence worldwide. This complex disease challenges the life of the patients, their families as well as the social, work-related and economic spheres.

Therefore, an efficient care model should take into account many different aspects that vary with the context: the program of care must be tailored to the needs of each person and family by an inter-disciplinary team of professionals.

Social Workers play an important role in planning the care as well as in guiding and supporting the patient and the family life. Planning customized projects in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team can bring tangible benefits in a few weeks.

The course aims to highlight the importance of Social Service for the care of Parkinson’s within a interdisciplinary team toward the definition of a plan to improve the quality of life of patients and families.

During the course, the Social Service Tools in Parkinson’s Disease will be presented within a multi-disciplinary approach.
